Job Board - para que?
En www.jetnumbers.com estamos necesitando tres personas. Hicimos una prueba diferente: en vez de ir al gallito o a uno de los sitios de trabajo, pusimos un aviso en Google. Por ahora lo vieron 1600 personas, y lo clickearon 28. Como hay pocos avisadores en Uruguay, nos viene costando $0.09 el click.
Despues les digo como funciono.
Sergio, donde pusiste el aviso en google? En adwords? Que keyword?

El aviso lo puse en adwords, target geografico=Uruguay. La idea era ponerlo en el content network (Adsense) pero por algun motivo al principio no se mostro ahi. Los keywords que puse fueron muy genericos: Uruguay, trabajo, jobs, economia, etc. Hubiera preferido cambiarlo por site-targetting, pero algo en adwords no estaba andando bien.
El resultado del primer dia fue:

Clicks: 120
Gasto: $9.97

The Person
Required
* Skilled and confident Unix C programmer
* Strong networking background and programming experience in Linux and Solaris
* Fluency with various development tools, networking and Linux/Solaris kernel hacking abilities
* Fluency in written and spoken English (essential)
* Strong work ethics and the willingness to belong to the unique culture of World45
Desired
* IPv4 and IPv6 networking stack, Snort and other intrusion detection solutions, packet filtering
* Good understanding of Open Solaris development process, Solaris Kernel; different telecommunication solutions, protocols, and hardware
* Understanding of parallel and multi-core programming models, high-performance clusters, shared memory
* The ability to learn and acquire above and other skills quickly
* Strong interest to be part of a global team but also with an entrepreneurial flair and personal initiative
The Position
The selected candidates will work full time in development/research projects, researching packet filtering methods, running network traffic simulations, analyzing statistical data and writing reports.
Currently we work on projects related to kernel level programming, device drivers, packet classification, intrusion detection, virtualization, and parallel regular expression matching.
The person will report directly to the Chief Technical Officer, will work with three experienced full time staff members and be supported by two senior consultants based in Dunedin and Wellington, plus direct access to our technical advisors in Silicon Valley, USA.

un par de preguntas:
¿cómo es la calidad de los curriculums enviados respecto a lo que puede llegar a presentarse a través de una publicación tradicional como el gallito?
¿la gran diferencia entre clicks y curriculums enviados puede deberse a que el anuncio no especificaba correctamente los requerimientos o será que hay muchos clicks truchos que google no logra filtrar?

Por ahora llegaron varios curriculums para los puestos de atencion a clientes, ninguno para emarketing. La calidad es similar, tal vez hasta un poco mejor, por el hecho de que necesitamos gente que se mueva con fluidez en Internet.
El porcentaje de curriculums enviado no me parece tan bajo. Uno de cada 40 que hicieron click envio el curriculum. Es un conversion rate del 2.5%, no esta tan mal. Me imagino que de los 120 que clickearon debe ser algo asi:
100 llegaron al sitio (20 se perdieron por el camino)
50 lo miraron, y dijeron no gracias (Google solo te da 70 caracteres para detallar lo que buscas)
30 dijeron que interesante, despues lo veo
10 dijeron: esto a Fulano le puede interesar, y lo mandaron por mail
6 se pusieron a escribir, buscar, ajustar o actualizar el curriculum
4 justo estaban buscando eso y mandaron el CV
