================================================
The Open Source, Multicore and Parallel Computing Miniconf offer a space to learn and discuss about Open Source contributions (existent or in process) to the problem of developing Parallel Software.
It aims to launch a conversation on how the OSS Community, Education Sector, Scientists and Researchers, Developers and Industry are looking at this “new” scenario.
Visit the miniconference site at
http://multicorenz.wordpress.com/lca2010-miniconf/
We invite presentations with a broad scope that could include between others:
– Specific code and technical developments
– Direct applications to industry or scientific research
– Training and education on Parallel Programming
– How the Open Source Model would be central to develop a sustainable platform for Multicore and Parallel Computing.
The Call for Presentations is open and ends Wednesday 30 of September.
Please email proposals, questions and presentations to

Read at http://multicorenz.wordpress.com/lca2010-miniconf/ about the type of proposals that we are after. This is a full day miniconf and there are a number of different speaking slots available from 5-min lightning talks and 25-min short presentations to full 40-50 min talks or collective presentations with a panel where presenters discuss the status of Open Source and Parallel Programming today and how they envision them to evolve together.
